What Are These Makeup Parties?
Clicking through the website you probably saw my 'makeup parties' section, and I'd like to take this opportunity to explain what they're really all about!
The idea
For about a year now I have been a volunteer with a wonderful charity called Look Good Feel Better. Big name brands such as No.7 and M.A.C kindly donate products that are put in a gift bag and given to ladies who are going through treatment for cancer, and we run a (roughly!) 2 hour session showing them how to make the most of these. There's a men's class now, too, all about skincare! It's incredibly rewarding, so much fun, and I'd strongly encourage any of my fellow makeup or beauty professionals to sign up as a volunteer. The women feel comfortable to be themselves and use the opportunity to relate to one another. We laugh, we cry, and the ladies leave feeling a million dollars.
My Parties
After my first few sessions I expressed to my mum how much I enjoy it and she said 'I'd love something like that, I have no idea what to do with my makeup any more!' and a few of her friends often ask 'whats a foundation?' or 'how do I do my eyebrows?' when I see them. And so the Bohemia Beauty party was born! Whilst I can't provide everyone with a bag of luxury products (I wish!), I can provide the prosecco (hooray!) and all of the advice you need. Like with the Look Good Feel Better sessions, I run through your makeup and skincare step-by-step, starting with cleansing and moisturising. I have no sponsors or partners, so all products I recommend are just from my own experiences and I make sure something is available for every budget, not to mention it's all cruelty free! The sessions I have run so far see friends, or strangers, laugh and learn together, which is what it's really all about. I hope to create an atmosphere where you can have fun and renew your confidence!
